This DLC was cancelled infinitely after update 7.4, however, its stories are still related and does impact to current mainline.

Gamemode introduction

Era: ZERO takes place during the fictional 84000 years before Newborn, an Earth which has evolved into a dystopian cyberpunk society. And then, there was a war between 4 organizations: Apocalypse Church, United Nations, Fire Moth and Massive Electric. In an unknown time, Apocalypse Church had a deal with Dr. MEI, leader of ME and both decided to secretly transfer a test subject to ME for scientific purposes.

In Era: ZERO, player controls the main character test subject Kiana through many combat tests and also fight against Kevin, leader of Fire Moth.

Timeline

Year of the story is 2044.

The 12th Herrscher was eliminated 10 years ago, and 20 years have passed since the tug-of-war with Houkai.

Note that the term "tug-of-war" is used here. It doesn't mean that the Houkai only started 20 years ago, but because the abandoned city of Changkong City was caused by the Houkai, and the story didn't say how many years ago it was.

Changkong City

Changkong City is the most advanced super-large fortress city in existence. As the headquarters of Massive Electric Agency, it is also the capital of People's Union. With the technological power provided by ME as a shield, Changkong City has become the safest place in the world today.

Changkong City is divided into:

The upper zone (the people in the lower zone call it that way)
The lower zone (most of them are refugees, the rest are immigrants)
The abandoned city (the old city that was abandoned after the Houkai explosion)

People's Union

The full name is Human Contract Alliance.

87% of the Earth's land was destroyed and uninhabitable due to the ravages of the Houkai. In order to deal with this crisis, the "Human Contract Alliance" signed by all mankind (?) was established as a basis. The new government of "People's Union" has abandoned the concept of state.

The organization structure of the People's Union is unknown. Now it only knows that there is a naive general Gesar, and the Minister of Defense Cocolia. The rest are unknown.

Massive Electric Agency

ME Agency was founded by the Raiden family as the core technology enterprise for humans to fight against the Houkai. It is located in Changkong City, the Far East region. It is the world's largest electronic military enterprise.

The current president is Dr. MEI. They mass-produced Houkai fission bombs, special operations team [Valkyrie] squad, God of War I and God of War II (under construction), can quickly generate isolated base stations. For the time being, the game only shows these things.

Apokalypse Church

The church led by Otto has an arms deal with ME Agency (correctly speaking, Otto himself and the president of ME Agency, Dr. MEI), and it is suspected of having a deal with Kevin, the leader of Fire Moth. After the transaction, the Church of Apokalypse is now existed by a saint.

Currently wanted by People's Union.

Fire Moth

Headed by Kevin, an organization composed of civilians in refugee areas and those who can fight, the purpose of which is to tear the hypocritical veil of human union, and put the right of mankind against the Houkai in the hands of mankind. It is known that there are six girls with heads and faces.

Among them, Kevin is suspected of having a transaction with Otto.
Kevin himself received sugery from Dr. MEI to gain strength.

God of War plan

The God of War plan is the strongest weapon against the Houkai proposed and built by ME Agency. It was implemented more than 20 years ago. There is 1 complete body, located in Oceania, and the other is under construction, which is the military base where Yssing and the 3 sisters went.

Thanks to God of War I and other measures, 70 Herrscher have been eliminated (including those who are not fully awakened). Among them, in the 10 years since the elimination of the 12th Herrscher, there were as many as 58 Herrscher, and none of them exceeded the energy level of the 12th Herrscher.

And because there is a limit to the Houkai, the God of War I, which can learn and evolve independently, has also reached the limit of learning in these 10 years.

God of War II is a preparatory measure developed by ME in order to deal with the upcoming planet-class Houkai beast (Jyahnar, there is no name in this DLC).

Valkyrie

The special operations team, which belongs to ME Agency, currently has 6 members. Equipped with Valkyrie armor, the armor can withstand Houkai energy level limit of 6000HW.

Dr. MEI

Dr. MEI, is the current president of ME Agency. She inherited the memory of her father and became the center of the God of War Project (note that this is a memory). Her age is unknown, and the copy describes her as a girl.

Now MEI is very disgusted with human emotions. She has said more than once that the end of the destruction of humans or the Earth cannot be changed (note that the game does not mention about the Final Herrscher).

It's hard to tell what kind of person Dr. MEI herself is (it is absolutely impossible for humans to defeat the Houkai)

Here is a very interesting passage about the concept of "illness" told by Dr. MEI:

"Illness" is just a concept, because the body changes in a direction different from normal, which makes people feel uncomfortable and panic, so people instinctively feel that they need to be treated.
However, there are also "illnesses" that are excluded and discriminated against simply because their way of thinking is different from that of ordinary people, causing psychological and spiritual defects beyond the physical.
Being sick is just a kind of subjective obscurity. When you feel different or not understood by others, you are already "sick".

Kiana

One of the experimental subjects that Otto and the MEI traded. She used to live in a concentration camp and is now a member of the Valkyrie Squad. It is also the subject that MEI focuses on.

The name Kiana is the name MEI gave to her after seeing that she is not a waste product.

The subject here refers to a relationship, just like a researcher and her subject.

The concentration camp where Kiana is located is essentially to cultivate killing machines, and has a chip implanted in her brain.

Kiana's physical is special, and she can be safe even in places where the Houkai energy level exceeds 6000HW.

MEI also bluntly said that all objects in Kiana should be studied, including chromosomes (?)

At this time, the Stigmata Project hasn't been proposed.

Planet-class Houkai beast

A Planet-class Houkai beast born in Centaurus A. It was first observed on May 9, 2038. It has a diameter of about 4000 kilometers, having the size of Australia, and its moving speed is close to the speed of light. It is expected to arrive in two years to the Earth (that is, the year 2046). Although the name is not there yet, we all know that the name of this Planet-class Houkai beast is Jyahnar.
