Official in-game glossary
Houkai
Houkai is a periodic natural disaster phenomenon, and the rhythm of the universe's periodic adjustments. It is manifested in different forms, such as plague, or disease, meteorological disaster, comet impact, or even the arrival of giant creatures. Every Houkai outbreak will cause a catastrophic or devastating blow to the species at the top of the current food chain, such as the Black Death in the 14th century. As for the extinction of dinosaurs as far away as the Cretaceous, it may also be a consequence of the Houkai.
Houkai energy
The dark energy emitted when the Houkai erupts is called the Houkai energy. Houkai energy can act on anything with a material basis, change their state and properties, trigger various physical or chemical reactions, and cause unpredictable effects. The Houkai energy cannot be recognized by the naked eye under normal conditions, and can only be detected by the latest equipment.
Houkai source
Under certain circumstances, the Houkai energy will continuously converge and concentrate around an energy point. This aggregate Houkai energy is called the Houkai source and the difference between the Houkai energy and source is that the Houkai source doesn't have fluidity. It will usually cause a large-scale Houkai at one location, and it will disappear when the energy of the Houkai source is exhausted.
Reality-distorting field
The changing effect of time and space attributes induced by the Houkai source is called "Reality-distorting field" (or Spacetime-distorting field). When affected by Reality-distorting field, the physical laws of the time and space will be singularized, and any supernatural phenomena may occur, for example parallel universes or spacetime rollback.
The Great Houkai
The Great Houkai is a large-scale Houkai phenomenon that occurs when a specific large Houkai energy gathers. Compared with the ordinary Houkai, the Great Houkai has a wider range of influence, and the damage caused is stronger. At the same time, higher Houkai creatures other than zombies will be born. And most importantly, the Great Houkai will inevitably produce a Herrscher.
The Second Great Houkai
On December 25, 2000, a large-scale Houkai broke out in the Pripyat region of Siberia, and at the same time the second Herrscher Sirin was born. The Third Great Houkai

Houkai beasts

Herrscher
Every Great Houkai will give birth to a Herrscher. Herrscher have strong adaptability to the Houkai. Pseudo-Herrscher
The superior existence second to the Herrscher is also a human being endowed with powerful abilities due to being able to be transformed by the Houkai. Retrospect

Zombies
It is a new type of Houkai species that appeared when the Houkai broke out in modern times. It was transformed by humans after being infected by the Houkai energy. The low-level zombies only have the most primitive desire to eat, and the more advanced zombies will be given special abilities, but the only thing is certain, they no longer belong to the human category, and they don't even have the characteristics of life.
Schicksal
An organization established in the 5th century to study the nature of Houkai and fight against it. In the long-term development, an organizational structure with three major families (Apokalypse, Kaslana, and Schariac) as the core has gradually formed. To fight the Houkai, Schicksal has been cultivating a force strong enough to fight against the Schicksal, and has established strongholds around the world for observation. This organization is hidden in the shadow of the apparent society and is not known to the world.
Kaslana familiy
One of the three families in Schicksal, rank Knight. The main responsibility is to protect Schicksal and fight against the Houkai forces, the contemporary Patriarch is Siegfried Kaslana. The Kaslana family has a strong adaptability to the Houkai, so it also serves many dangerous combat missions in the Houkai area. The members of the Kaslana family advocate force and have a clear class, which ensures that they have enough strength to defend the safety of Schicksal.
Schariac familiy
One of the three families in Schicksal, rank Priestess. The main responsibility is to seal the Houkai, and the contemporary Patriarch is Cecilia Schariac (deceased). The female members of the Schariac family are regarded as saints. The saints have the ability to control the Houkai, so they can use the Houkai energy to strengthen themselves (it is said to be the prototype of the Valkyrie), but the manipulation of Houkai comes at a price. The fate of the saints is to be eroded by the Houkai and eventually lose their lives.
In the Reborn chapter, after Cecilia's death, they lost their patron and fell into chaos. The inauguration ceremony of the new saint also ended in failure, and they are now in a state of chaos without a leader.
Apokalypse family
One of the three families in Schicksal, rank Bishop. The main responsibility is to manage Schicksal and formulate a plan to fight against the Houkai. The contemporary Patriarch is Theresa Apokalypse (also served as the head of the Saint Freya Academy). Apokalypse means apocalypse in German. As the leading family of the Schicksal Organization, the Apokalypse family has always been covered with a veil of mystery in history.
Saint Freya Academy
St. Freya Academy is founded by Schicksal, its purpose is to cultivate Valkyries who can fight against the Houkai. St. Freya Academy is located in the Far East, and Theresa Apokalypse is currently the principal of the academy.
In the Reborn chapter, Cecilia served as the principal of the academy, but Otto dismissed Cecilia's plan and let Theresa take over. However, as soon as Theresa took over, St. Freya Academy was bombarded by the Brilliant Covenant main artillery, and it is now in ruins.
Valkyrie
Among human girls, there are very few individuals who have a certain degree of adaptability to the Houkai. Executors
Although the leader of the Anti-Entropy is called the "Sovereign", the Executors are the actual Anti-Entropy managers. Each Executors has their own codename, and each person manages a branch.
